The text used comes from a book entitled The Visual History of Type, a chronological collection of typeface specimens. These four sentences are from a sample sheet showcasing the typeface Optima. 
The piece began as one movement but became three as each line of the text began to suggest different materials. I explore layering and overlapping of voices and text to access a range of collective sounds, from very transparent to relatively opaque.

Its outlines have the effect of motion.
